With the Gatherings and Face Mask Order from the MDHHS taking effect today, it is with great reluctance that we will be closing our doors for the next three weeks. All in-person classes are cancelled for the next three weeks and the final round of the Fall Cup is postponed indefinitely. This decision was reached after consulting with our legal counsel and ensuring that training can continue virtually.
A Special Note from Coach Robert:
Hey all, this is our virtual practice schedule as of now. It is subject to change in response to the conditions of COVID 19 and if there are enough people who feel it doesn’t meet their schedules. There isn’t a required amount of attendance but I would like to see you 2 times a week just to keep you engaged for your emotional/mental/physical well being!
Let’s take note that this will be a multi-level practice so there will be possibly newer LEAP kids attending! Awesome! Meaning you all more experienced fencers need to encourage them through the warm ups, footwork, conditioning, drills, etc. So Jordan, Ros, Claire, Grace, Aidan Carson, JP, Laurie, etc. feel free to chime in to give encouragement!
This is a great opportunity to build our team with so many up and coming fencers…plus for our competitive fencers to reflect on what they want to work on in their game, build their emotional resilience, nurture the new fencers, dig deep to create discipline in their lives. We could be depressed and bummed out about the situation at hand… but our motto here is NEVER SAY DIE! Embrace uncertainty! Cherish your teammates!!
